Kory Anderson
CEO
Kory Anderson loves metal. He grew up with a childhood dream to build the world's largest steam tractor and a passion for American industry. As an adult, he was doing welding and machine work when the Dakota Foundry, the business making some of his dream tractor’s parts, came up for sale in 2014. So he bought it. Today, Kory and his wife Ali, chief branding and PR officer, operate a family of 100% American-made metal casting and patterning companies with 50 full-time employees. “Our mission is to preserve and strengthen American manufacturing, and keep these businesses that were destined to close operating in America," says Kory. Anderson Foundries now competes in a global market while employing skilled trade workers at home. And that steam tractor? Kory and his team finished it in 2018, setting a Guinness World Record.
Google Ads Performance Max serves as Anderson’s marketing expert, generating leads and optimizing campaigns that account for 30 percent of their customers. The team uses Gemini to draft strategic communications 95 percent faster, and Ali uses NotebookLM to check the handbook against updates to state regulations, or for ideas to improve the employee experience. For the floor, uploaded HR manuals and technical handbooks trim information searches from 20 or 30 minutes to one, so production doesn’t stop while workers wait for answers. “The speed of AI makes our work so efficient,” Kory says. That’s helped Anderson grow their customer base over sixfold while maintaining a 98-percent on-time delivery rate. Kory and Ali’s mission to bolster U.S. industry includes their Iron Warriors Academy, with a goal to train and place 100,000 skilled people into the trades by 2030. “American manufacturing has to be more productive to be competitive,” Kory adds. “And a lot of that is using these tools.”
