NotebookLM and Gemini help us take relevant information, across team knowledge and business assets, and move it toward meaningful deliverables a lot quicker.

Crossrope began in 2012 with a Navy officer’s simple need for better fitness equipment. Founder Dave Hunt, a former P-3 Orion pilot, jumped rope to stay fit while deployed, but found the available ropes weren’t up to his standards. So he engineered a high-quality, interchangeable weighted jump rope system, crafting the first prototypes from deconstructed nunchucks and hardware store cables. Crossrope has grown from a garage startup into a global fitness success, added a new ropeless line, and served over one million customers across 180 countries. Google Ads Performance Max campaigns help Dave reach these fitness enthusiasts while staying within his budget. “Performance Max is a big proportion of our overall campaign allocation because we're better able to optimize and allocate our spend," he says.
Gemini helps the Crossrope team draft contracts and streamline communications, so they can do three to four times more outreach to potential business partners than before. With Nano Banana, they can try out fun marketing angles which often spark further ideas; they recently used it to brainstorm for a video of someone throwing a treadmill in the trash to position Crossrope as an alternative way to exercise. They also use NotebookLM to create searchable libraries of business know-how that help team members find answers 10x faster than before. “NotebookLM is a way to synthesize knowledge, resources, assets, and experience across the team,” Dave says. On YouTube, over 800 brand videos use digital storytelling to showcase Crossrope in action and create profitable monetization opportunities for partners. These successes also fuel their Crossrope Cares program, which provides Crossropes and funds to underserved communities and worthy organizations like the USO. Says Dave, “Without Google tools, it would be difficult to be as effective and productive as we are.”
